Our history
Our company is the gathering of rich experiences, diverse passions and an original vision in which our information systems are deeply integrated with the Web. This vision has been partially realized with the emergence of the REST architecture style.
In order to introduce ourselves, we have listed below the key steps of our development.
2009
The company goes through the economic turbulence serenely thanks to the support of its customers and partners, preparing its growth by building relationships with economic development structures like the competitiveness cluster Cap Digital, the French Association Of Software Editors and Suresnes city which hosts it.
The Restlet project continues its development with the preparation of a version 2.0 that now offers five editions for Java SE, Java EE, Google Web Toolkit, Google App Engine and Android. The writing of the "Restlet in Action" book published by Manning has begun.
2008
To better serve our customers and structure the development of our activities, Noelios Consulting transforms itself into a commercial company and officially integrates Thierry Boileau. The company changes its name to Noelios Technologies in order to mark its turn towards an activity of open source software editor.
The Restlet project continues its development with the distribution of a version 1.1, increasing the number of extensions including one supporting the JAX-RS standard. Jérôme Louvel participates in the expert group elaborating this API (JSR-311).
2007
After one year and half of intensive development, the final 1.0 version of the Restlet project is launched, followed by the publication of the best-seller book "RESTful Web Services" by O'Reilly for which Noelios Consulting was a reviewer and a contributor of a part on Restlet.
For a French customer, an important knowledge is developed around the SCRUM agile methodology and the Google Web Toolkit (GWT) technology.
2006
Following a very positive welcoming of the Restlet project, Noelios Consulting strongly invests in its development, in a truly collaborative spirit, favoring the emergence of a solid community of users and contributors.
In parallel, an expertise on the Eclipse platform is obtained with the design and the development of a visual RFID environment for an American software editor.
2005
While continuing its missions, Noelios Consulting identifies the lack of tools allowing an easy application of the Web architecture style (REST) and decides to launch the open source Restlet project in November 2005.
2004
With a strong experience of six years, including three in the IT consulting in France and in USA then three other years in software edition, Jérôme Louvel creates the individual company Noelios Consulting.
Noelios Consulting proposes its services to various customers located in the USA, in Canada and in Belgium. Its services rely on a large expertise in Java and XML technologies applied to the integration by business processes.
